The album was selected as one of the Source's 100 Best Rap Albums. version of the album that was released in 1989 on Def Jam Recordings/Columbia. The Cactus Album was the debut album from the Hip Hop act 3rd Bass. Absolutely essential for any connoisseur of the genre, though a bit dated to the ears of some, this is nevertheless a very dope album, and deserves nothing less than an 8.5/10.
